The best way I would describe the effect of the marijuana and the hashish is that it would make me relaxed and more creative.

What is a brainwave?

Brainwaves are produced by electrical pulses from masses of neurones communicating with each other.

All emotions and behaviour is just a result of communication between neurones.

Neurones are a sort of electric circuit inside our brain which transmits signals throughout our body.

Brainwaves are detected using sensors placed on the scalp.

Brain Wave speed is measured in Hertz (cycles per second).

They are divided into bandwidths according to their frequency and categorised as alpha beta gamma delta and theta waves.

Delta being slow, loud and functional – to Gamma being fast, subtle, and complex.

Our brainwaves change according to what we’re doing and feeling. When slower brain waves ( delta brainwaves ) are dominant we can feel tired, slow, sluggish, or dreamy. The higher brain waves are dominant when we feel wired, or hyper-alert.

Brainwaves can be detected using sensitive medical equipment (such as an EEG).

BRAINWAVEFERQUENCYSTATEOCCOURENCEBENIFITSINCREASED BY
DELTA WAVES 0.5 Hz to 3 HzDeep sleep.Delta waves begin to appear in stage 3 sleep, but by stage 4 nearly all spectral activity is dominated by delta waves. Stage 3 sleep is defined as having less than 50% delta wave activity, while stage 4 sleep has more than 50% delta wave activity.Immune system, natural healing, restorative deep sleep.Depressants, sleep.
THETA WAVES3 Hz to 8 HzLight sleep or extreme relaxation. But for most, being able to enter the dreamlike theta state without falling asleep takes meditation practice. It acts as our gateway to learning and memory.
has proven useful for hypnotherapy, as well as self-hypnosis.
Meditation, sleep, music, creative visualization.
ALPHA WAVES8 Hz to 12 HzAwake but relaxed and not processing much information.Alpha waves are reduced with open eyes, drowsiness and sleep.
When you close your eyes your brain automatically starts producing more alpha waves.
Creativity, emotional connection, intuition, relaxation.Alcohol, marijuana, relaxants, some antidepressants.
BETA WAVES12 Hz to 40 HzNormal waking state of consciousness when attention is directed towards cognitive tasks and the outside world. These waves are considered to be “fast” and usually begin in the left hemisphere of your brain. beta waves are present when you get stressed, use our logical thinking skills and when your body tenses up.Conscious focus, memory, problem solving.Coffee, energy drinks, various stimulants.
GAMMA WAVES40 Hz to 100 Hz These are involved in higher processing tasks as well as cognitive functioning. The mind has to be quiet to access it.Binding senses, cognition, information processing, learning, perception, REM sleep.Meditation.

Alpha Brainwave and Creativity

Alpha brainwaves are important for creativity. One way to increase your creativity is to increase Alpha brainwaves.

Scientists have shown that highly creative people have different brain waves from normal and non-creative people.

Normal and non-creative people do not produce alpha brain wave. When they are faced with problems they fail to come up with creative ideas and solutions.

Alpha waves have a positive effect on everything from our mood to our immune system to our sleep.

If you want to naturally increase your creativity and alpha activity, try meditation.

Stimulating alpha waves

If you want to improve the overall functioning of your brain and improve the quality of your life, you should work to increase your Alpha Brain Wave activity.

Alpha brainwaves are the dominant brain wave activity when your body and mind are able to relax. If you have ever practised meditation, yoga, or even felt relaxed after drinking alcohol – you have experienced alpha brain waves.

Mindfulness training and meditation tend to produce noticeably more alpha waves.

A new study by the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine recently identified the first evidence that a low dose of electric current of 10-hertz can enhance the alpha brain wave activity and boosts creativity by 7.4% in healthy adults.

Scientists at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill were able to measure increase in creativity.
The researchers stimulated the brains of 20 healthy individuals with a low dose of electric currents, transmitted safely and noninvasively through electrodes attached to the scalp. Afterward, the participants performed an average of 7.4 percent better on a test of creative thinking. Source

Drugs that boosts creativity –

1.) Drinking Alcohol
Each time you get drunk, you do experience increase in alpha brain waves.

2.) Smoking Marijuana
The reason people feel relaxed after smoking marijuana is due to significant increases in alpha brain waves.
Marijuana is actually more powerful than alcohol at increasing your alpha brainwaves.

Natural ways to increase your creativity –

Watching television
Deep breathing exercises
Yoga
Meditation
Closed-Eyes Visualization
Self hypnosis

How marijuana changes brainwaves?

Marijuana also ups the production of dopamine in the brain, it is a neurotransmitter that plays a number of important roles in the human brain and body.
Dopamine affects brain processes that control movement, emotional response, and ability to experience pleasure and pain.

Wrapping up

It’s not something I encourage but marijuana may increase your creativity is a scientific fact. There needs to be some base there as well. The marijuana only enhances what’s already inside you. It cant turn a bad artist into da Vinci overnight. True creativity also requires intelligence and a lot of hard work and dedication.
