Steps to draw Fibonacci Golden Rectangle and Golden Spiral
Draw a square of height=100cm and Width=100cm. Check your dimensions to avoid any errors later on. Keep the outline thin and black so that contact points are easily visible.
Now take your width and multiply with 1.618, the golden ratio. After calculation extend your square by taking new width as shown in the figure. Now you have drawn the golden rectangle. You can check by doing the following calculations-
Width of golden rectangle and Height of golden rectangle are in Golden Ratio
Width of Golden rectangle and Width of the Square are also in Golden Ratio
From this third step, we will start to draw golden spiral inside the golden rectangle. To do this draw the circle with radius same as that of the square is drawn in step 1 and place it above the figure of Step 2 as shown below. Make sure the quadrants of the circle meets the diagonal vertices of the square.
Trim out the portions of circle outside the plaza. Now the obtained figure will serve as the source for whole design. We don’t need to draw pictures anymore as we will be duplicating this derived figure, rotate it and make it fit inside the initially obtained figure.
Now copy the figure achieved in Step 4 and turn the copied image to 90 degrees clockwise.
Make the copied image to fit inside the parent figure. You will get the figure same as shown on the right side.
Now, again duplicate the figure obtained after Step 6 and rotate it 180 degrees clockwise.
Resize the rotated image to fit inside the original picture as shown below. You will get figure exactly similar to as shown in the right side.
Again duplicate the figure obtained after Step 9 and resize it.
Drag the duplicate figure to fit it inside the figure obtained after Step 9. Congratulations! You have successfully drawn the Fibonacci Golden Rectangle with Golden Spiral.
